About us
Centro de Estudos da Consciência (Center for Consciousness Studies, or CEC) is a nonprofit association that believes we can build a better world by rebuilding ourselves as individuals.
We believe this personal rebuilding is possible through a mature, questioning approach to knowledge that frees us from the distorted views we acquire throughout life — views that distance us from healthy spirituality. As we follow a path of liberation and consciential evolution, we come to embody spirituality fully, without relying on others to provide our understanding.
CEC was founded in 1998 by Moisés Esagüi to share his research on astral projection, chakras, clairvoyance, bioenergies, laying on of hands, reincarnation and many other topics that fall under Behavior and Spirituality. A psychoanalyst, Moisés has studied human behavior since he was very young. His work on the relationship between energies and behavior forms the cornerstone of what we understand as consciential evolution, the starting point for understanding all the other subjects studied at CEC.
CEC has no ties to any religion, philosophy or sect. Everyone is welcome to take part — by becoming a member and helping our work continue and grow, or by joining the activities we offer.
We hold regular activities at our headquarters and on social media, and offer courses, experiential workshops and talks across Brazil and in other countries. On weekends and public holidays, we gather at St. Damian Monastery, our headquarters in the countryside of São Paulo state. It is a beautiful place where we work together to put our beliefs into practice.
For us, spirituality reflects who we are, and strengthening that connection depends on our commitment and openness. We therefore encourage participants to explore their experiences with an inquiring mind, combining the knowledge available with their own experience to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and grow as individuals.
We believe in building a better world where we can leave a legacy of light and positive contributions. We invite everyone to explore this evolutionary path with us through relationships and multidimensional development.
