Summary
Spirituality encompasses all of life, since we are spiritual beings with or without a physical body. Striving to be better to oneself and others requires effort and daily changes in behavior; reading and asking for forgiveness are not enough. This path of evolution is individual because each person has their own story, and it involves loving oneself, learning to love others, and showing respect to make the most of life.

The question was asked in a conversation last week. An obvious and simple answer would say that spirituality is what cares for the spiritual dimension, the most subtle one. Personally, however, I do not see it as a division between the physical and spiritual worlds: we are spiritual beings with or without a physical body. This is how I see the issue.
I think spirituality involves everything and is not summarized by saying "I am a Spiritist, so I am a spiritualist." We are spiritual consciousnesses because our origin is from there toward here: a spirit is not placed in a body; the spirit obtains the body. Each person decides their path. Doing what one wants, asking forgiveness, and regretting it does not make everything all right: one must work and make an effort. Reading one hundred, two thousand, or three thousand books on spirituality does not lead to the desired destination without behavioral change and daily improvement; this path does not end, and on it we improve or worsen.
Spirituality is a broad context of individual paths. There are billions of people, each with a story. Paths may seem similar because we want to walk in groups, but they remain individual. We do not all grow and evolve together: the person grows and ends up alone, although they do not want to let go of the rope or the bone. From my point of view, spirituality is research, search, and the desire to become better with oneself and everyone around, recognizing that we will make mistakes.
Life is a road full of bars: one may follow it without entering any, seeking to know more and evolve, or enter every one and make the journey take much longer. Raising one's head and moving forward means becoming organized, loving oneself, learning to love others, and respecting. I see spirituality as essential for becoming better, enjoying the world without wasting time unhappy or in a bad mood, and, with determination, making the most of it before leaving this body.
