Summary
Consciousness is an energetic configuration without a defined form that needs a vehicle to manifest. Although it has an unlimited capacity for association and knowledge, its manifestation depends on the limitations of each body. During astral projection, it moves from the physical body to the astral body and can divide itself among vehicles, allowing one body to be perceived from the other.

This is a response to a question about what I mean when I speak of "consciousness," left on the video "Spiritual Factors: Relationship and Knowledge in Our Life." Someone replied that it is the human being's intellectual and emotional capacity to recognize external reality, citing the dictionary. I am going to explain better what I understand by consciousness. When I was a boy, I read a book from the Esoteric Circle of the Communion of Thought that spoke about universal consciousness. At the time, I associated that consciousness with God and thought that, if God was universal consciousness, we would be human consciousnesses. That initial thought seemed coherent to me, because when we speak of consciousness, we are referring to something that perceives everything around it.
I began to study more deeply: first the physical body, then, with astral projection, the astral body, and, later, the mental body. I asked myself how I could be conscious in the astral body in the same way that I am in the physical body. After years of research, I understood that consciousness is an energetic configuration, a structure without a defined form. In order to manifest, it needs a vehicle.
This energetic structure has an unlimited capacity for association and knowledge. It does not increase or decrease in size; it only reorganizes itself. When I am conscious here, this structure is operating in the physical body. If I go out in astral projection, it transits to the astral vehicle. Consciousness can divide itself among the vehicles, allowing, for example, that I perceive the physical body from the astral body and vice versa. This indicates that consciousness can be present in multiple vehicles, but its manifestation depends on the limitations of each one.
