Summary
The meaning of life, over the course of reincarnations, is to make the most of every moment with seriousness, courage, and respect, leave suffering behind, and understand what it means to love. Happiness can be found within ourselves and requires that we not depend on others or on the pursuit of intense emotions. All reincarnations and repetitions are valuable for learning, but they do not make anyone better or worse than anyone else. Even with different emotions, histories of reincarnation, and outlooks on life, we learn together and are one; recognizing this allows us to stop making distinctions between people.

This is the sixth day of the course "Learn About Reincarnation," a special day for discussing the meaning of life. Imagine that you are on a path of hundreds of reincarnations. Often, we do not truly make use of this path. Let us use this life as an example: how much have you really made of it? We are born and we follow a script that we ourselves wrote, but that does not mean we are on the right path. In truth, there is no "right" or "wrong," but rather a path of growth. That growth should not include perversity, although emotional conditions are inevitable for now. We need to evolve, to be better, to be happy, and to leave suffering behind, regardless of the circumstances. The important thing is to understand that we need to be independent first.
We are independent consciousnesses. We are born alone, even as twins or triplets, each one with their own history. That history is something we need to learn and, in the end, to assess whether we took steps toward happiness and toward resolving our lives. Today, on seeing photos of various places in the world, including Brazil with its many trees, I reflected on the number of experiences we can live. We often look for strong emotions in order to be happy, such as drugs, cigarettes, or euphoric events. However, true happiness does not depend on others, but on ourselves. We can carry our own happiness, create our own sky, earth, trees, and rivers. We have all of this, but we frequently do not use it, because we always have to buy something that is already ours.
It is sad to see people spend 60 or 70 years on Earth without really living, wasting happiness because of our inner blindness. The meaning of life is to make use of every instant with seriousness, courage, and respect, and to understand what it is to love. There is no talk of spirituality, but of love: understanding what surrounds us, understanding ourselves, and learning together. Everyone on this planet is part of one great ship, circling through the universe around the Sun. We cannot simply stop and get off this planetary system. We are in this together, each one with their own view of life.
The law of relativity explains that two people looking at the same object do not see the same thing, because of different angles, emotional components, and reincarnatory histories. I do not see why the entire planet cannot come together. I have an intense wish for the world to have no fences, borders, differences of language, or any other division. We are one great people on one great ship.
It would be wonderful for us to walk this path with happiness, appreciating the sunrise and the sunset, and falling in love with the night. I fall in love with many places, the people, the plants, and the buildings. We should not boast individually, but rather recognize that we do things together. In time, we will all discover that we are one, without names, addresses, or zip codes. We will not have houses, but we will be part of the universe.
This moment demands a great deal of work and perception of the reincarnations and repetitions we have lived. All of them were valuable, regardless of what happened. Our path is one of happiness, which needs to be contemplated and recognized. We learn from our experiences, without being better or worse than others. We are simply human beings. With this awareness, we will not make distinctions between people. The learning of laying on of hands and reincarnation (courses "Learn the Laying on of Hands" and "Learn About Reincarnation") aims to share the little we know and to receive back what you know, through questions and observations. There is no difference between us; we are all one.
Questions raised by this material
- What is the meaning of life across multiple reincarnations?
- What does it mean for us all to be one?
