Summary
Reincarnation brings repeated experiences in the physical body but produces very little evolution on its own. Information is lost through the trauma of death, while emotional processes formed in response to threats carry over from one life to the next. A consciousness can remain anchored in the emotional chakras and even regress emotionally. Evolving requires enlightenment and individual effort to reassess one's reference points with sincerity and caution, gradually absorb what one has learned, and change one's behavior while respecting others. After death, each person comes face to face with who they are and with consciousnesses at the same level; repentance or a final blessing does not undo what has been built or replace the effort to change.

A total of 122 questions about reincarnation were identified among the emails received. The question that appears about six or seven times is: what is reincarnation? Reincarnation is a process in which humans repeat experiences using the physical body. The spirit arrives on Earth for the first time, lives a physical life, dies—or, rather, loses the physical body—remains in the spiritual world and reincarnates, thus beginning the process.
It remains in the physical body, dies, and we keep doing this indefinitely until we find enlightenment and truly become a free consciousness. Why reincarnate? It is a repetitive process. Imagine having come here 5,000 years ago. It is only an assumption, but we have been here on this Earth for a long time. Let us suppose that, as a spirit, you began reincarnating 5,000 years ago. How will you leave this process if you find no one to tell you that reincarnation exists? Have you ever thought about being convinced of something you cannot see? Reincarnation is a repetitive process; we need to clarify it to prevent you from continuing to repeat it.
It is very difficult to imagine that this situation could happen. Imagine three, four, five, or eight thousand years ago, when we had no understanding even of our relationships with one another, much less knowledge of spirituality and the subtler spaces of consciousness. This is serious. Since this did not happen the first time you arrived here on Earth, you keep repeating the process, adding the most varied explanations about what surrounds you to your path.
We really need someone powerful who can free us from our suffering, because there are many things we cannot understand and, above all, resolve. The result is that we soon want to create a powerful god, someone who is the solution, omnipotent, omnipresent, and who grants our request.
I am in very poor health. If you help me, I will make a promise. You begin making exchanges with someone you cannot see; I am not saying that this being does not exist, only that you cannot see them. The way God was fashioned by us humans does not correspond to universal consciousness. That consciousness transcends everything we can imagine and, from my point of view, is not at our disposal to relieve stomachaches, affective difficulties, job losses, and other situations in which we invoke God as though He had nothing to do.
He is available so that, when I have an emotional problem, I can say, "Look, sir, I have this problem; can you give me some support, help me?" He answers, "Of course, Moisés, I am at your disposal." Imagine that, if we cannot manage our own lives and daily routines—something very simple—how can one consciousness manage the universe and balance all the things we throw off balance? If we left our planet alone, with no people here, it would certainly be in a different condition from the one it is in now. We are destroying the water and the vegetation; we are making everything worse because of our ignorance.
But we are talking about reincarnation. You were born for the first time. The things that happen around us are closely connected to our continuity. In your first reincarnation, you will compete for food and for a female or male partner. If you are a consciousness in a female body, you may want to compete for a male partner; if you are in a male body, you will compete for a female partner. Then there will be aggression, biting, and blows with clubs. There will be things that hurt but that can also destroy you. If someone injures you very violently, you may die. This is how an absolutely important component in our reincarnation process arises.
The threat of destruction and the loss of continuity cause you to begin creating resources to protect yourself. Observe how the process develops. This story does not end there, because from one life to another, information is not carried over, since we lose it through the trauma of death. Death is something terrible; I still consider it terrible, but it was much worse before. There was a very specific ceremony, with countless stories and explanations. When someone died, for example, if that person was a pharaoh, they crossed the river of death in a boat to meet God. We had narratives for everything in order to justify the fear we feel over the lack of continuity. Thus, we tried to resolve this issue.
It is about resurrection, rising again, and so on. But let us return to the point I am addressing. The threat is important because it creates our emotional processes, which are what will pass from one life to another. In the first life, you already experienced some threat; in the second, that mark remains with you.
If someone says that psychology, psychoanalysis, psychiatry, and studies of human behavior are not important, I say that you may question it, because I may also be wrong. However, I consider our emotional processes extremely important, because they are the only thing carried from one life to another. One cannot stop being what one is. It is not possible to be a primitive person in one life and an evolved person in the next. The process continues; you always encounter what you are.
And there has to be a way for this to happen. Of course there is. We are activity, we are chakras, and we work with our chakras. These chakras contain something very important: our consciousness. Your consciousness, which is an energetic structure, manifests more strongly in a particular chakra and begins to manifest in life by working in the base chakra; then it rises, passes through the heart chakra, goes to the frontal chakra, to the crown chakra, and continues rising.
This should happen, but in one life we cannot make this journey because of ignorance. We do not get beyond the third chakra. If we consider the base, spleen, or hepatic chakra, which is beside the navel chakra, we do not leave these chakras. The emotional chakras are our anchor. Thus, if you cannot break free when passing from one life to another, besides not having broken free, you are immersed in a family that remains in these chakras and will keep you imprisoned in this story.
From one life to another, how much have you evolved? From my point of view, we evolve almost nothing conscientially, because we keep repeating, and things can happen that make us regress emotionally. People follow the path of birth and death, birth and death. We have a small detail that we need to understand: in this process, we are not evolving. If you want to evolve, you will have to add one more item, which is individual effort. This effort cannot be that childish and immature emotional effort.
It is necessary to conduct a sincere inner review in which you can observe who you are and what you have learned, questioning everything honestly, even if this takes away your reference points. It is not simple, because some reference points are so deeply rooted that, when they are removed, they leave an immense void. Resolving that is even more difficult. We must therefore proceed with caution.
Spiritual work is a path we follow gradually, learning, reviewing, and questioning so that it does not become too painful. Unless you want to face some issues definitively—which I do not advise—we need time to digest what we learn; that way, you may even resolve things more quickly. However, trying to resolve everything by decree is not a good idea. Let us think about this calmly.
And why do we need to return here? Why reincarnate if we go to heaven, which is much better? When we die, we encounter what we are. One cannot invent another story. If it were possible to go to a better place, we would already do so here on Earth, making the planet much better. It does not work that way. Some people think, "I do what I see fit and, at the last moment, I say a prayer, repent, and everything changes on the other side." Why? "Because the more evolved consciousnesses will be waiting for me, since I repented." It does not work that way.
We are a construction: we become better or worse. Perhaps you can review what you are really like emotionally. Are you ill-tempered? Are you aggressive? Are you passive? Do you harbor resentment or jealousy? These are all heavier, negative characteristics that we do not acknowledge, because we end up finding excuses to be aggressive or mean. Thus, we have many excuses for doing wrong things. One fine day, at the end of life, when everything is already over, you say, "I need to reconcile." Then bringing in a religious person to give the final blessing so that you can depart for the other world does not work that way.
What happens is that you will encounter what you are. If you are not a balanced, happy, healthy person, that is what you are. You will reach the other side; let us suppose you are a person with serious emotional difficulties, imbalances, mood swings, and aggressiveness. Your world on the other side will be that, because the consciousnesses who are there, the spirits who are there, will not have a physical body to defend them. They will all be at the same level: that is the group you will encounter. Therefore, the best we can do is work very hard on understanding spirituality in order to follow a truly good path with less suffering.
At this point in our lives, we cannot waste time engaging in empty talk. We cannot say that we will fix things later; that does not work. If we let time pass, we will not improve, because effort is lacking. We think that helping a person on the street, someone in difficulty, is an act of kindness, but it is a duty. We should do our best at all times. Better means changing behavior and respecting others.
You are in traffic, for example, and the person in front of you is driving slowly; you immediately begin cursing and insulting them. A lot of things. Do you know why? You think you are right. So you continue that way, and when you reach the other side, you will be with those people who believe they are right. That is what will happen. And you think, "Wow, I am in a horrible place! So, God, help me." There will be no one to ask for help. Do you know why? It is your responsibility to become better or worse. We should use the opportunity to become better than we are. Once we lose this opportunity, we cannot recover it. There is only one thing that cannot be recovered at all: time. Lost time is lost time. So let us work on this.
