Summary

Love is not about having love; it is about being love: a state of utmost simplicity in which not even an insult affects a person on the inside. A relationship like this begins in the mind, in exchanges, in dignity, and in the happiness of being together. For a couple to live well and in love, both partners need to work at being love, because living with someone who is not love drains energy.

Source transcript

A listener asks: "What is true love? I believe that the most important thing of all is still love. I think that few really feel it, especially in couple relationships. A fundamental question is the energy that love emits between a couple: is a true love possible on one side and not on the other, even while being true? Love has nothing to do with the other person; it is related only to ourselves."

Love is not having love, it is being love. We need to be love. When someone says "I was filled with anger," in truth, that person is anger. "I was filled with hatred" means that the person is hatred. We manifest what we are. With love, it is the same thing. We should understand that love is something very serious. We need to learn more about this in order to stop encouraging the contradictory things we constantly see. On turning on the TV, we see only violence, enemies, and power—everything opposite to love. In wars, people even invoke God to kill someone in God’s name. No one really knows what love is.

Love is a condition of maximum simplicity that each one of us must embody. We will know that we are feeling love when, even when offended, nothing affects us internally. If you meet someone like that, you will see that the relationship does not begin in the lower chakras, but in the head, in the exchanges, in dignity, and in the happiness of being together. It is not easy. You cannot be love and live with someone who is not, without energetic wear. Supporting the other person is not viable. For a couple to live well and in love, both need to be love. That requires work.
