Summary
After they die, pets remain for a while where they lived and continue doing what they did before. How long this lasts depends on several factors. Moisés saw his dog Laila, who had already died, coming to meet him and continued to feel his cat's presence after the cat died. All animals need to be treated with respect and affection.

A listener asks: "Cats and dogs: what happens to pets when they die? What is the life cycle of these consciousnesses like? If they have very great affection for their owners, do they continue visiting the house where they lived after death?" All animals need to be treated with respect and affection. I had a little dog named Laila. She was very intelligent and playful. One day she had a health problem; I took her to the veterinarian, but she passed away. After that, one day when I came home, I saw Laila coming toward me, as she used to, and heading to the corner. They go on doing what they did before. The level of consciousness of dogs is not yet that high, but the affection they show deserves greater study.
I had a little black cat that, whenever I came back from college, would run up to me and climb onto my shoulder. When the little cat died, I went on feeling his presence. It was strange, but I clearly felt the cat. I had other animals that, upon moving house, ended up passing away. That saddens me. I feel we could treat them much better. We must treat all life with more affection and love. As for the question about whether they continue visiting the house where they lived: yes, they remain for a while. That period depends on several factors. I consider this important knowledge.
