Summary
Neediness makes us believe that we constantly need other people’s attention, but balanced relationships with everything around us require respecting each one’s natural path without giving excessive attention. This includes not feeling disregarded when someone cannot help and being honest when we cannot offer help.

The purpose of our life in relationship is to connect with everything around us: not only people, but also animals, plants, and even inanimate objects such as stones. It is important to give each element its due importance, without exaggerating our attention to the point of interfering with the natural path each one must follow. We need to learn to deal with this difficulty because we are naturally unbalanced. Our neediness is our hell, leading us to believe that we constantly need other people's attention. If someone can help you, great. Otherwise, do not feel disregarded; try to resolve it on your own or ask someone else for help.
When someone asks you for help, assess whether you can help. If you can, do so. Otherwise, be honest and say that you cannot. It is essential that these relationships be established within balanced boundaries. I have a dog named Will, and I talk with him every day. However, our communication does not occur on the same level of life because he is a little dog.
